Nef Kandilli, with its genetic formation, could be articulated with Istanbul on a wider scale and to Bosphorus on a rather narrow framework.

The characteristic features of waterside formation and seaside mansions by the Bosphorus come forward as the main features of Kandilli Houses. The floor plates that are shadowed by the wide eaves, the cantilevers enhancing view perspectives and formed in accordance with the land’s slope, the framework outlining the facade design and the peaceful relation with the topography are features born from the vernacular tradition of several centuries, yet exposing itself in a specific character with a contemporary interpretation.

The soft touch of timber together with a special cladding material having various earth colors forms a surface texture that one would want to touch, even more so to caress each time. The articulation language of the undisturbed clear surfaces looking towards the seaview and the side facades gives a unique identity to the buildings.

In addition to the residential units, attractive common areas that combine various functions with open and closed areas are the significant elements of the project. One other specific feature of the project is that the carpark areas are planned below ground so that the open areas could be used for pedestrian access enriched with a generous landscape texture.
